MAXGEAR RACING TEAM 2012 LAUNCH “A SPONSORS VIEW”

So the stage is set for the grand launch of the 2012 version of the all-conquering Champion-systems/Maxgear team Launch for 2012.

Todays Cyclist became involved with the squad at the beginning of  the 2010 season providing the team with Kenda tyres. Jagwire cabling solutions, and lake custom fit shoes.  So when it came to renewing our commitments for 2012, it was a simple equation, and what else can we help them with.   So our marketing manager Lauren Vanderplank, our buyers, and our directors sat around a table to put together a package to carry them through 2012 and 2013, showing our committment to the team, and our brands.

And so the new team was born with a new title and a new Co-sponsor Verolli distribution, providing high-end carbon frames from Kyklos, and light weight wheels from Edco for the Junior Squad.  We provided Jagwire cabling solutions, Kenda tyres, Limar Ultralight helmets, 4ZA finishing kits including 50 mm carbon wheels,KMC Chains and Lake custom fit shoes, a great commitment from both Verolli and Todays Cyclist, not to mention the teams backing from Champion-systems clothing and managerial support from Maxgear, and nutritional needs from Your Sport Fuel.

And so the Champion Systems/Maxgear/Kyklos Racing Team was born.

Under the watchful eye of Team Director Wayne Greenhalgh the team is made up as follows:

Senior

Wayne Greenhalgh, Matt Limacher, Mike (Lance) Ashurst, Mike Rawson, John Rigby and Dan Spashett , riding on 4za wheels and components.

Juniors

Jake Ragan, Chris Lawless, Chris Latham, Luc Hall and Hugh (53) Carthy, riding on 4za finishing kits, Kyklos frames and Edco wheels.

Women

Nicola Soden, Lauren Brown, Melissa Bury, Eve Dixon and Frances White, not all present due to racing commitments.

The location was set in rural Northumberland at the excellent venue of Matfen Grand Hall, putting all attending in a mood for a great event.   What started as a cold day, soon turned into a blizzard, yet the riders showed the great determination they showed throughout 2011, handling their bikes in the extreme weather.

With professional photographer John Picton, taking the images, shortly to be available.  A great weekend was had by all, and we at Todays Cyclist, and all our brands, welcome Verolli with Kyklos, and Edco into the Maxgear fold, if 2011 has been anything to go by, the team now have the tools for a fantastic season in 2012 and 2013.

Have a great season guys, I look forward to watching your success during 2012.
